Professionalism

Full-time, I am the Director of Operations of a large distribution center where I have been since February 1995. For 10 years prior to that I was a CPA and Controller for a large moving company.

I am responsible for leading and motivating a large and diverse work force to achieve long and short term goals, solve problems, listen to input from various perspectives, and follow up to ensure desired results are achieved in a very large organization.

Integrity, consistency, a professional image, attention to detail, a commitment to quality and reliability are my core values. I bring the same level of professionalism to your event:
  • Professional appearance (tuxedo and well-groomed)
  • Professional equipment
  • Professional attitude (satisfy the customer, accommodate special requests)
  • Professional performance (entertain and motivate)
  • Professional preparation (work out all the details, communicate regularly with the customer)
I am happily married and the proud father of 4 children ages 14 to 28. I am very involved in community and youth activities such as coaching, Scouts, 4H, etc. I am very family oriented and also bring those values to every event I DJ.

Note: I always tailor the music to the audience and I am very cautious about playing music with inappropriate themes or words in family environments. Additionally, the client always has the right to ask for certain songs to not be played for whatever reason (don’t like the artist, style, etc). I will always honor those requests

Professional Preparation

Any wedding brings two individuals and their families and traditions together. The planning is extensive and the expectations are high. “Professionalism” starts with caring and understanding how important your expectations are and then committing myself to making sure that your expectations are handled in a mature and caring way.

  • Day of, I arrive about an hour ahead of your first guests and have everything set up when your first guests arrive
  • I am dressed in professional attire – tux is standard, I am well groomed and project a neat professional image
  • All equipment is professional grade and proven and set up in an orderly manner
  • I coordinate the plans that we have laid out ahead of time, I work with the other support individuals in a professional manner and I integrate the music to achieve the ultimate goal – a full dance floor
  • I coordinate with other instrumentalists or vocalists who might be performing during dinner
  • You or your designated guests are welcome to use the wireless microphone for toasts, prayers, and other announcements
  • I do not smoke, drink alcoholic beverages, engage in monologues or tell jokes, fraternize with guests or do anything in a “sloppy” manner
Insurance – I am insured against any personal injury that might occur due to my equipment (people tripping over a cord or light stand or something like this). I have never had an incident, but it is nice to know that the insurance is in place

No Karoake – Sorry, I don’t think that weddings are the spot for amateur American Idol wannabes to take over your reception with out-of-tune singing. There are very few good singers in the general population

Note: I do encourage individual and group sing-a-longs….just not full blown Karoake solos
